In alignment to the Sustainable Development Goals, the World Free Zones Organization in collaboration with Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence has developed the Green Free Zone Certification Scheme to certify Free Zones worldwide on green achievements in relevance to operations, logistics, management, emission reductions, and transportation, etc.

In the fast paced development of free zones worldwide, sustainability has become one of the largest issues for growth; within this sustainability element of development, the greening of free zones is of focus in this certification scheme.The self-assessment tool will allow stakeholders from different parts of the world to evaluate themselves to establish their maturity in the certification scheme, and to assess which tier of certification they can apply for. 

The Green Free Zone Certification Programme will harness region-specific collaborative platform to engage on a global implementation towards achieving the national and international climate action objectives.
