The Freezone World Economic Barometer (F-WEB), established in early 2018 by the World Free
Zones Organization in partnership with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, is a sentiment indicator
designed to gauge the current momentum of economic activity in the Free Zones and give
indication about future trends.
The F-WEB survey is web-based and user-friendly consisting of easy-to-answer qualitative
questions on current developments and expectations regarding a limited number of key
variables (turnover, output, investment, prices, etc.).
The indicator is calculated on a quarterly basis and published four times a year. A
comprehensive evaluation of the F-WEB results is presented in an annual Economic Outlook
Report.

Given the broad based participation of Free Zone representatives, it provides a new genuine
source of information about economic trends at the global level, comparable to what PMI
indicators are at the national level. More information on the design and methodology of the
F-WEB can be found here. FWEB Breifing Video
