Shaanxi Xixian Free Trade Zone of Airport New Aviation City (FTAA) Joins the World FZO


On September 7th, the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) awarded the Shaanxi Free Trade Pilot Zone of Airport New Aviation City (FTAA) of Xixian New Area. Following the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and Dalian Free Trade Zone in Liaoning province, Shaanxi FTAA has become the third Free Trade Zone in China who joined the World FZO.

In the afternoon of September 7th, the CEO of World FZO, Dr. Samir Hamrouni, issued the voting membership certificate and presented a plaque to FTAA. Dr. Samir indicated that FTAA of Xixian New Area as an aviation gateway to the outside world, the World FZO would promote FTAA to collaborate with other overseas FTZs, and attract more investors. FTAA would become a potential free trade zone area in China. HE Jian, secretary of the Party Committee of the new aviation city and director of the Administration Committee, mentioned that the joining the World FZO as a member would be a significant measure to speed up the integration to the global economy.

Shaanxi FTZ has continuously formulated a legal, global and favorable business environment. In the previous year, Shaanxi FTZ exclusively registered 18,452 new enterprises included 244 foreign-funded enterprises. At present, over 40,000 companies set up in the Shaanxi FTA, with a total area of 120 square kilometers, accounting for 75% of the import and export trade of Shaanxi province.

ZHAI Beiqin, deputy director of the provincial Free Trade Office and member of the Party group of the Shaanxi Provincial Commerce Department, said the provincial Free Trade Office would fully support FTAA as a channel to establish several cooperations between the Shaanxi FTZ and the World FZO. It would drive the collaboration and exchanges between the Shaanxi and other members of World FZO, especially in the field of international trade, science & technology, and culture. New measures have been taken in the innovations of policies, industrial mode, system development, supervision process, and government service.
